Biman driver arrested with 7 kg gold
Dhaka Customs authorities have arrested a Biman driver with 60 gold bars from Dhaka's Shahjalal Airport.
Detained DHL custom deputy commissioner Athlow Chowdhury said that Bilal Hossain is a driver of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
He said the members of the customs team of the Customs House blocked the car when Billal came out with a microbus with an eight-point gate on Sunday.
After searching, they found 60 gold bars wrapped in tape with the driver's seat next to the driver, whose weight was about seven kilograms.
He said, "In initial interrogation, Billal said that a trolleyman named Amjad gave him the tape wrapping packet. Amjad was supposed to take it after leaving the airport. "
The customs officials tried to catch Amjad but he escaped, said deputy commissioner Atheloy.
The customs official said that legal action was being taken against detained Billal Hossain.
