RE: Nioh (PS4) I hate this game but I can't stop playing it

in #battle5 years ago

I had this issue with Demons Souls (the first of these super hard games), didn't want give up and then the boss was impossible. This is the reason I ignored Bloodborne and the other souls games.

Being hard makes them compulsive if you can avoid throwing the controller through the monitor. I missed this one as my PSPlus elapsed but keep thinking about re-subcribing.

This month its Titanfall which is a boring shooter, I'll see what's on offer next. I still have around 12 other games to finish.

Sort:

yeah, i have a backlog of games that were pretty decent and I should probably put Nioh on the back burner for something a little more casual-friendly. i think i have, like you, a dozen or so games that I have only played a little bit of in the PSPlus membership thinger.

I have watched a tutorial on the boss and can probably beat him if i follow that. To be honest though I don't really like the prospect of needing to do research to defeat the very first boss in a game. It is not a great sign of what is going to happen in later battles if i need that sort of help already.

In the tutorial that guy who made the video and I am presuming he is extremely good at this, still took like nearly 10 minutes to defeat him. That is a crazy amount of time to spend on one boss.

I had to do this for the bosses on Demons Souls, and I agree it shouldnt be like this. I do like hard games though, and played the Witcher on the hardest level.

The game still intrigues me, despite what you say about it. I'll 'try' and keep my distance.., look me up on the PSN network.. I was lucky enough to be an early adaptor and grabbed the handle 'slobberchops' ;)
