Banyan
Banyan (Ficus benjamina and several other Ficus (genus) species of the tribe or Moraceae), also called waringin or (somewhat mistaken) fig (ki ara, ki means "tree"), known as garden plants and ornamental plants . Breeders have developed a banyan leaf (variegata) popular as ornamental plants of the room. Beringin is also often used as a bonsai object.
Beringin is very familiar with indigenous culture of Indonesia. These large tree-shaped plants are often considered sacred and protect the local population. The offerings are often given under a banyan tree that is old and large because it is considered a place of magical power gathered. Some people think the place around the banyan tree is a "haunted" place and needs to be shunned.
Bodhi trees are often interchangeable with banyan, though both are of a different kind.
