what is Pohela Boishakh for Bangali?

Pohela Boishakh is one kind of Bangali tradition. The People of bangladesh celebrate on this day speically. This is the first day of first bangla month of the bangla year. Bangladesh have their own 12 bangali month for a year.
Boishakh, Zoishtho, Ashar, Srabon, Vadro, Ashwin, Kartik, Ograhayon, Poush, Magh, Falgun, Choitro.

In bangali - "Pohela" means first/One and "Boishakh" is the first month of banga year. So, Pohela Boishakh means first day of the first month of Bangla year.

The day start with a night old fermented rice and fried hilsha fish as a breakfast.Then people go outside for different kind of recreation. Some make hangout with friends/family, Some join to the open boishakhi consert, some are explore one day boishakhi fair. Different kinds of people choose different kinds of activities only for celebrate this day specially and the government of bangladesh also decleared off day to celebrate this day. In this day people make more gather everywhere than as usual day in Bangladesh.
