I’m still doing the old fashioned manual voting, even do I might sometimes miss out some good posts and guys. It still feels fun doing it and I just don’t won’t to miss that feeling. Strange huh?
This is still my preferred method of content curation. However, those who support me consistently deserve to be on auto upvote in my opinion. So even when I'm on vacation, they still receive my support.
Hi its a good idea to use autovote... Please add me to your list... This will help us to run our project which is solely to educate out of school children... Please check out my profile for more details....
This is not about supporting projects, this is just for my friends who have been supporting me from day one, sorry. I'll take a look at your blog though.
I am auto upvoting you 10%, but I check back your post on a regular basis. I do manual upvote sometimes when I see good content, I'd dump a 100% vote on the COMMENT to reward the author better.
Mark my word, after you auto up vote, you'd find your self a hesitated situation where there are less people commenting on your post, because you're no longer there to curate them 😂
I don't mind you auto vote me back 10% since your SP bigger. But please don't stop visiting.
I'm still manual for the most part, but I always feel like I'm playing catch-up. No, don't get me wrong, I always try to engage to the best of my ability, but if people are only here for a comment curation, then they can go somewhere else. I'd rather not see comments if they are forced. Visiting will never stop, as of said before, I first joined steemit because I found the content to be amazing, takes a little digging but is certainly better than anything else that's out there on the Internet.
So the issue I have with autovote is some people post a lot and some posts are much better then others. So when I put these people on autovote I cap it at 1 vote per day, but so often I end up voting on the post I would have skipped and then I feel the need to still vote for the good post.
I get the time savings and to make sure to always reward certain people, but overall I'm leaning more and more towards dropping the few people I have on autovote and sticking to manual curation.
but if you are going to do it make sure to cap the # of posts per 24 hours. Also I would suggest using a lower percentage then 100% for this. It only makes sense if you are thinking there are 20 or so people (per your reply that has already been made). You don't have the VP to cover the 20 and what if you run into other quality content?
I use steemdunk and it's pretty much flawless at voting exactly when it's supposed to. I like that I can set 0 minute upvotes for those I'm trying to really boost. Have used that for a few brand new people to make sure they got to keep the entire vote.
I'll take these points for consideration, thanks for the tips @thedarkhorse. This is just an experiment, I'll play around with a few different things and eventually find the balance point.
I spread it, the vote around trying to save some power when I run into someone one who did a good job then increase it.
You have to try different things until the right combination comes along, Then there will be a hard fork to start all over :)
First on the list! I can go with either or - If it's more than 20 people then I'll go with the bot, if not, I'll stick with a simple service like @steemdunk
For autoupvote, even though you don't get a chance to read all content you voted as you wish but at least the person get a chance to taste your SP. Am going to try esteem app. Thanks a lot @kaliju, I may enjoy being on your list but may be you don't know me!
maybe that's a great idea sir. but you also need to set up just one post from one of the lists that get automatic upvote from you, it's all for your voting power
Hey bro. I think it's better to upvote people with lower VP because your upvote is not small, so you can show some good love to few more people.
Try to experiment and see how it goes... It's hard now because the market is down so your upvote is not that big so you cannot support a lot of people :/
Tough issue. I do have an auto-vote list. One I don't update nearly often enough (for example, I probably haven't updated it in 3+ months. Hmm.... I should really go do that). But I also do a lot of manual curation. In general folks I really like and trust to always be putting out great content, I want to support them as much as I can. Which is only 3 cents at the moment, but... well, it's the thought that counts, eh? I need to add you to my auto-vote list now that I think of it, as well as a few other folks who suddenly pop into my head.
The percentage is a tough one too. I want to support everyone at 100%, but then I'd only have 10 votes a day. So I try to divide it up. 20% here, 50% there, adding as I go. Even so, I don't do a very good job of it, seeing as how I've been hovering around 79% voting power lately. My problem is I want to reward everyone, but can't, and that's frustrating.
Hmm... sorry for the ramble. Hope you can get something out of that :)

I'm still here. Taking time off to sing karaoke in front of my phone.

This made me smile - actually giggled a little bit :)
Hit me up @kaliju
Also, are you using a service or did you create a bot from scratch?
First on the list! I can go with either or - If it's more than 20 people then I'll go with the bot, if not, I'll stick with a simple service like @steemdunk
Thanks mate! Im gonna have a look at steemdunk
steemdunk is awesome, I find it way better than other tools available for the same task.

I believe eSteem will help you greatly to get higher up votes.
