RE: Are You the Author and Authority of Your Authentic Life?

in #authority8 years ago

Really awesome post @krnel and I believe I am.

I think one of the biggest issues in society today is the positions of "authority" being held by too few - we as a society have morphed into groups of followers unwilling to step out of the shadows and risk sharing an unpopular view or opinion.

The problem with this system is that those without a sense of authority pass the blame onto those they gave the authority too in the first place.

Whether it be the prison system, the wars, damage and destruction caused by them or the people we elected that sent troops there to fight and die in them - people as a group feel shielded from these choices and decisions by placing the blame higher up the chain to those with the Authority to cause them.

Either not realising or being unwilling to realise, that the system can't work without the many thousands of people sitting idly by doing nothing about it - claiming nothing can be done or it's just the way it is.

As long as we continue to externalize our authority how can we ever alter the path our world is currently headed on?

People need to realise it doesn't matter if they have some label or title and this assumption of power over us, we gave them that power and we can easily take it back.

We are the Many and they are the Few!
