ASX emotional trading (is it ALWAYS bad)
This morning on market open I watched KGN fly and put my portfolio into the green for the first time in two months. As I sat watching it and wondering if i should "make it real" I got to thinking and as it hit 7.4 and then dropped to 7.25 I realised Kogan has become an emotional trade. The guys are always telling me never trade on emotions, but sometimes i disagree. My last extremely profitable trade was emotional... As I sat with the boys watching BAL come crashing down, with their supply trouble and ceo issues, i remembered the many many times i ran around all over the place looking for belamys infant formula, as it was the only one my son could stomach. Even before that i had a soft spot for the. Being a tasmanian company who started small. I said theres no way aussie mums (and china) will let them go under and sure ebough we all made a lot of profit.
My only other female trader friend does emotions too. As much as i jumped around and told her to make it real when her baby EVE flew, she didnt. Now its dropped and she says its tine to top up. This makes me nervous, but hey... I do the same thing.
A fundamental trader friend of ours told us both "you dont have to marry your stocks" but I ask.... Is emotional trading always bad?
