Lawd hammercy! I really loved last week's Abandoned Shit Weekly Contest with the "overgrowth" theme. Congratulations to all of the winners, and to anyone who participated really. Eventually, we're going to start cycling back through all of the themes and I can not wait till we do that one again. It's time to look ahead now. It''s time for a brand new theme.
You'll notice a slight reduction in the prize pool this week (15 SBD for first place, down from 20). Even though the contest is only around a month and a half old, I realized I've spent nearly $2,000 dollars on prizes and promotion. I need to cut down on the expenses a bit, hope you guys understand! If anyone would be interested in helping out with sponsoring the contest, please do get ahold of me on here, on steemit chat, or in the ASW discord channel at the link a bit farther down. You can sponsor 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Place rewards. Or anything else for that matter. Anything helps! All sponsored money will go right into promotion of the contest. Okay. Let's dive right in:

** Guest Judge! ** @kommienezuspadt!

LardsJudge.jpg
We've got another guest judge this week! This time it's a Steemit OG and the one who introduced me to this whole site, and cryptocurrency in general. @kommienezuspadt specializes in dark pinup photography. Every few weeks I see him post on social media looking for interesting, unique, and/or abandoned places to shoot his models. Seems like he'd be a guy who knows cool interior photos! He's also my brother! (actual sibling)

The Contest:

This is NOT a photography contest.  The subject matter is what's being judged with the Abandoned Shit Weekly contest, not one's skills with a camera.  Honestly, I just want to see some cool abandoned shit.  lol  HOWEVER, as with any photograph, the "wow factor" can certainly be enhanced with a technically sound execution.  Simply put, winners won't be chosen strictly on artistry.

The Prizes:

1st Place = 15.000 SBD
2nd Place = 10.000 SBD
3rd Place = 5.000 SBD

The Theme:

This week's theme = INTERIORS! The photos must be of the INSIDE of the abandoned subject. This theme is pretty broad, so hopefully we'll get a lot more entires! It just needs to be the inside of the abandoned thing. Building, vehicle, mine, well... whatever. It just has to be a man-made thing.

The Rules:

Rule #1 = Your abandoned shit photo must be posted using the tag #aswcontest for one of your tags.  This is crucial so that your entry can be seen/found!

Rule #2 = Your photo must be taken by YOU. If you take an imagine from the internet and use it as your entry into this contest, you will be disqualified and I will flag you.

Rule #3 = Only ONE entry per user, per week. Save some content for future contests! Multiple images of the SAME place/object in one post is OK though.

Rule #4 = Tell us what we're looking at!  You don't have to write a novel, but let us know what the picture is of, and where you found it.  That's the most interesting part! Equipment and camera settings can be included at your discretion, but is not necessary.

Rule #5 = Stick to the weekly theme!.

The Time:

When = New ASW contests will start on TUESDAYS and will end at 11:58pm EST on SUNDAY.  Winners will be announced on Monday with awards distributed then as well. I figure it's a good way to start the week!

The HELP:

HELP! - I'd really like this contest to become an established, weekly feature.  Resteeming the official contest announcement post here would be a huge help in getting the word out, though you do not HAVE to in order to participate in the contest.  I'm just asking as a favor.  Also, just mentioning the contest in/on your entry post would help a lot!

^^^Here's the photo used for the contest logo above. It is the lobby area of an abandoned 5-star hotel we found on a mountain top in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. I used a photo of a hallway in this hotel for the very first ASW contest logo!

Well, THIS is pretty stupendous! Wow! <3

Now THAT'S real abandoned shit :)

Whoa.... now THAT is abandoned! Is it a Trabant? Weirdly enough, I nearly posted a Trabant interior myself...but mine was NOT as bad as this! Love it!

This is VW Beetle interior.

Thank you! Silly me - I have read your full post now and see that you said so in the description there 💖

For this week, my entry is a shot of an abandoned swimming pool full of graffiti where I found an old teddy bear watching over the place.

hey man, i will start submitting pictures to your contest, as i've been fascinated by abandoned shit for as long as i remember. in the mean time, i just stumbled upon this film, not sure if you know it or not. it's more like a museum installion than a film if you ask me, but it has a nice pace to it and some great locations! keep it up man, thanks for this contest!

This may look small and weird, but this use to be our family factory here in Aba, Abia state, Nigeria. It was abandoned since January 2013. We produce local wooden hanger for hanging of cloths. The motor you see there is used to drill the hole where the metal hook will through. We also use it with a sandpaper head to smooth the final product after drilling.
