I caved and ordered myself a new phone using BTC profits - heres how

in #asus7 years ago (edited)

My Note 2 phone has been taking a beating for years, the camera quality is terrible and the battery life gets shorter by the day.

It feels like about time we got an upgrade , and ever since @pharesim wrote this great review I've been drooling over the idea of an Asus Zenfone 3 :

Tonight, I decided to go ahead and place my order via buymobile.com.au, and paid for it using Bitcoin (from steemit earnings) using @roomofsatoshi .

It's way too quick and easy to spend this much money - here's how I did it

I found an alright price for a network unlocked zenfone with warranty using google shopping.

There were cheaper options but they came from stores I'd never dealt with before, and I was willing to pay a premium to be able to sleep at night knowing it would actually arrive..

I placed my order, checked out, selected "Bank Transfer" for payment option and copy pasted the payment details across to Living Room Of Satoshi 's form

Once you've entered BSB, Account Number, Amount and Reference code you get a payment prompt like this one :

Send off your BTC to the address provided, and within seconds it will confirm and you'll be finished.

I can't wait to finally be able to capture pictures of the kids without heaps of motion blur from their stimming.

It'll be even better once I can do this directly with Steem

Stay tuned for way better quality pics from myself and @krystle , and a review of my shiny new toy :D

Amazing <3 I'm drooling over the new p9 Huawei with the Leila camera.. But honestly at this point can't spend any coins for an upgrade due to lack of funding..
Happy to see you materialized something out of nothing. 😀
Much love and support

I've had a few zenfones, going back to their original model with Intel chips.
Good value, and a decent experience.

But I think they really hit their stride with the 3rd gen. Better materials, and good performance/battery life.

Hope you enjoy the fancy camera on your unit!

Ok, I'm jealous. My phone is also old and a piece of shit but I'm too lazy to buy a new one at the moment (it's a job for later this year). Mine is ok above 50% but then it goes from 49% to 0% in virtually no time. It's really annoying.

thanks for sharing
ASUS look great
Congrats

Awesome @ausbitbank! Can't wait til we buy things online with the "Pay with Steem" button:)

Great! You ought to reward yourself once in a while! A new device is pretty appropriate to improve your productivity etc!
Cheers!

There is one important thing I've learned when I've made money from an investment it's to spend s little on the way up. I've been investing for long enough to have bets that skyrocket, I get greedy and don't want to spend any of it and think about what it could be if it keeps going up at this pace, to have it get crushed one day and start over. If you have a great investment and you spend a little on the way, whatever you spent will be forgotten. But if you get greedy and then crushed, you will think about all the things you could have bought when it was at a high price. Enjoy the device, following you now.

This phone is gorgeous!! Zenfone almost sounds like a cryptocurrency

Awesome, I'm glad for you.

I want to buy a computer for myself, but as many others I don't really have the money XD Would be so awesome to be able to buy it using steemit, but I'll see about that in the future, if not, I'll need to find a way to send my Steemit money to PayPal and then my bank in order to buy all the parts for the computer.

Congratulations again and I hope you enjoy your new phone!

Stick with it and you've got a pretty good chance :) I followed and checked out your posts, they deserve more. Have a @randowhale tip and please consider joining P.A.L chat and making use of the minnow support bot and community there.

Thank you very much for your follow and for your advice :)

This might be something for me to look into... my Obamaphone is really messing up!
