It's Astro-Logical -- practical advice for conscious living ---> Issue #71
Here's what the Taurus New Moon
looked like to an Astrologer.
Welcome to the New Moon in Taurus
The New Moon in Taurus arrived Saturday evening, the conjunction between the Sun and the Moon in Taurus. This occurred at 14° of the sign and sets up a lot of Taurus-based themes for us to consider and work with over the next four weeks.
The New Moon in Taurus is a double dose of stability, grounding, and focus on the practical use of material resources. The predominant energy now shifts from starting new projects and ventures ... to finding the money and other supporting elements these efforts will need to flourish ... or at least sustain themselves.
Issues of income, spending habits, prosperity, debt management, resource allocation, purchasing schedules, budgets, cash flow, the acquisition of property and possessions, the most efficient use of time and energy, and the setting of long-term "unalterable" plans are on the front burner of attention now ... for everyone.
Taurus is concerned with security and comfort
Taurus is the Zodiac sign traditionally associated with money -- since that's an issue of burning concern to many people. But Taurus energy is actually about all things that involve physical and material support and having both the wit and the opportunity to appreciate them.
Taurus is involved with beauty, comfort, pleasure, and all things that delight ... and attract ... the physical senses. It's not just about boosting your bank balance, being the "kid on your block with all the toys," or winding up as the richest person in the cemetery. (As Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame used to say ... "You can't do any business from there.")
And so with the New Moon in Taurus as part of our energy now ... let's consider these things to do ... and be aware of ... for the next several weeks.
Working with the Taurus energy in your life
Spring is rushing pell-mell into Summer at this point, and as the first of the Earth signs ... Taurus, the Fixed Earth Sign ... invites us to step outside and enjoy the wonders of nature. It's a show custom-designed over the eons for you to experience.
Taurus is about fertility, abundance and sensual pleasures. Walk barefoot in the grass. Sit under a tree. Go driving down a winding country road -- or take a walk down a wilderness trail. Or just sit on a swing -- or on a lounge chair on your patio -- and enjoy the fresh air.
Plant some flowers or a garden. Or buy some flowers or fresh produce from a farmer's market. Those are becoming more and more available, and supporting local food producers is ecologically and economically responsible. Buy Local. Not just from farmers. Make that your motto.
Taurus is about being stable and grounded. What do you need -- or what can you do -- to feel more secure and firmly planted in the territory your call home? Or ... maybe you need to consider what do you need to find the place where you want to put down roots and build the home that will support you and shelter you in the months and years ahead?
What does it take to do that ... and how can you get there? If you don't at least consider the questions, the answers will remain ... elusive.
Taurus is about defining your values and living by them. This part can take some work and awareness. It's easy -- too easy, in fact -- to say you value World Peace and Eliminating World Hunger. But let's dig a little deeper. What do you personally value? This can take thought -- and unusual consciousness of your own reactions and choices. Let's start with a couple of easy ones.
What are some traits you admire in other people? Where do you see these reflected in you? How can you choose to embody -- and demonstrate -- more of these virtues? What will you have to change? What will happen -- or who will you become -- if (and when) you do that? Think about this.
What do you spend money on? This one can be very revealing. Your purchases support things you find important -- things you want to see prosper and thrive. (If not, you need to start making some different choices, ones that truly reflect what you believe and who you are.)
If your spending decisions aren't in synch with your genuine character, realigning them could fix a lot of interrelated "problems" in your world. Give this some serious thought. Put your thoughts into practice. Watch what happens.
