Basílica de Santa María
Buenas noches steemit, hoy os traigo una acuarela de una parte de mi ciudad muy antigua, se trata de la Basílica de Santa María situada enfrente de la playa del Postiguet y a la entrada del casco antiguo.
Good night steemit, today I bring you a watercolor from a part of my very old city, it is the Basilica of St. Mary located in front of the postiguet beach and at the entrance of the old town.
Os pongo una fotografía que he bajado de la página de turismo de Alicante, no es la misma que utilice en su día pero no la he encontrado, es la edificación religiosa más antigua de Alicante data del siglo XIV y se edificó sobre los restos de una antigua mezquita.
I give you a photograph that I have downloaded from the tourist page of Alicante, it is not the same one that I used in its day but I have not found it, it is the oldest religious building in Alicante dates from the fourteenth century and was built on the remains of an old mosque.
La forma una sola nave sin crucero con capillas laterales entre los contrafuertes, tras sufrir un incendio en el siglo XV fue reconstruida de ahí su fachada es barroca y está coronada por dos torres asimétricas construidas en los siglos XIV y XVIII.
The form of a single ship without a cruise ship with side chapels between the buttresses, after suffering a fire in the fifteenth century was rebuilt from there its facade is baroque and is crowned by two asymmetrical towers built in the fourteenth and eighteenth centuries.
Destacan la portada con la imagen de la Virgen, realizada por el escultor Juan Bautista Borja, el altar mayor del siglo XVIII y las capillas del Bautismo, la Inmaculada y la Comunión.
Highlights include the cover with the image of the Virgin, made by the sculptor Juan Bautista Borja, the main altar of the eighteenth century and the chapels of Baptism, the Immaculate and Communion.
En la Sala Capitular se encuentra una enorme pila bautismal del siglo XVI y un órgano barroco valenciano de 1653, como curiosidad ahí se casaron las 2 sobrinas de mi mujer el interior es espectacular.
In the Chapter Room there is a huge baptismal font of the sixteenth century and a Valencian Baroque organ of 1653, as a curiosity there were married the 2 nieces of my wife the interior is spectacular.

Una acuarela muy hermosa @vicenteajb. La arquitectura barroca es muy abarrota de detalles y tu haces un trabajo plástico muy sutil y ciertamente fiel a lo que veías. Nunca he estado en Alicante. En una oportunidad estuve en el Sur de España (Málaga, Torremolino, Sevilla y Granada) y quedé fascinada. Si algún día puedo volver a España, seguro buscaré la Basílica de Santa María y me acordaré de usted. Gracias por compartir su obra. Cordiales Saludos
