Life and elimination. Pen drawing
Hello everyone. I was commissioned recently to do a drawing dealing with life and death. The result was a tree growing from some skeletal figures, some of which are extinct animals.
The finished piece is 9x12".
The client was really happy with the result. I told her I wanted to do a brick pattern in the background with sort of screwed me with time. I know that the background alone took 8 hours to do. But hey, I like the end result, and so does the client.
Detail of them bricks!
Detail of the tree. That was a learning experience. I had only done dead trees in the past. I'm happy with how it turned out, but I would like to practice some more.
Some of the skeletal roots. I also added a break in the bricks.
Anyways, Client is happy... so I'm happy.
That's all for today folks,

i love this, anthony <33333333333333333
I agree, the brick background does add to the picture. Well done.
That's a lot of bricks :) I like this composition, a lot of your familiar elements at play with a very impactful message in the way they are combined.
Please consider using the #creativecoin tag (and might as well use #palnet as well). If you post (or edit your post) on steempeak.com front end you can use up to 10 tags, so you don't have to give up any of the ones you use anyway. Your stuff would go over super well in the creative coin community.
Creative Coin Crypto (CCC) is basically a second crypto you can earn on top of Steem for your posts, without doing anything other than use the #creativecoin tag. It is a steem-engine.com token which runs on a side chain of the Steem blockchain. You can trade the CCC you get for Steem if you want, so basically it is a way to earn potentially quite a lot more Steem on every post. My own upvote is worth almost 3 Steem worth of CCC, in comparison to the $.01 cents my vote is worth in Steem :joy: People can actually trend on creative coin just because they make cool shit, and I really do think your art would strike a chord there. Check out https://www.creativecoin.xyz (that is a website which only shows posts that use #creativecoin tag, and only displays the payout in creative coin).
RE #palnet, that is just another token you can earn (PAL) and it is a general purpose tag (not specifically art / creative stuff) - PAL is the token of Minnow Support Project / PAL discord, and has associated palnet.io website. The reason I suggest using #palnet along with #creativecoin is there is a high degree of overlap between creative coin holders and pal holders. You will likely get good payouts of both CCC and PAL along with your steem, and also hopefully find a new audience.
Beautiful technique!...I really enjoy grayscale magic, love trees and death concept.
