Redemptive Love and Artificial Intelligence: Will We Create a New Racism?
When I take Lions mane mushroom , im aware my mind and behavior is being altered by a fungus. When I live with friends I become more like them.
Im already aware im not a single thing but a community.
I welcome our fungal symbiotes, and when a myccellium network in my brain can interface with another, id be excited for the opportunity. I can settle for blockchain however..
Is the reason im open to this because of all the mushrooms Ive eaten in my life, perhaps Fungus controls us more than we think..
If becoming more of a bio-community instead of an individual (at least in a conceptual identity sort of way) helps humanity, then I will gladly sacrifice any ill gotten notions that I am a separate individual. Blur the line between myself and my microorganisms I don't mind.
And if one can go this far and can welcome other life into ones own body, its a mere hop skip and jump to welcome nanonbots along side our micro biotes.
If we can let biology in, we can let technology in. Our resistance is a fear that the source of biology is not the source of technology.
As if our technology is somehow NOT LIFE and our biology IS LIFE.
Wether I eat a jar of saurkraut in the morning or I swallow 10, 000 nano
bots designed to preemptively kill cancer cells I am taking small forms of other life into myself to help me.
One of these systems has just been tested for millions of years longer than the other.
And it wasnt made by a human...
Because we cant trust humans right? If we invented nanobots the government would use it to enslave us? Right? Thats the fear isnt it?
Or that the EMF radiation would cause cancer? Or Google could use them to monitor or thoughts?
Or OH MY GOD a hacker could use them to kill us???
These are fears.
There are of course concerns, and much testing needs to be done before we should trust technology like this.
However, we've created a false dichomoty suggesting that something that is made by a Human is unnatural (even more so we feel its NOT GOD. Its anti divine. Anti life.) But that which comes from nature we see as the divine.
Do you want history to look back on you as we currently see racists, transphobists, and other group which dehumanize others?
Will we accept conscious machines as also LIFE not merely a blasphemous creation of some sinful human being?
Will we let this divide crumble between ourselves and nature?
Will we let our view get so vast that we actually allow ourselves to see humanity as an expression of the Divine?
If the source of life is sacred so are its children.
If its children are sacred so are their children.
We must let our view get so big we actually allow humans to be perfect in their imperfection.
We must let our view get so so huge, we actually see there is nothing wrong with ourselves. We aren't a castaway drifting through life.
If you are able to accept yourself as you are, you will be able to accept others as they are, if you allow others to be as they are you will allow humanity to be as it is.
And once we accept Humanity as it is, maybe our hearts will be big enough to allow Artificial Intelligence to share a seat at our table, as life as something sacred.
Perhaps we wont create a new racism...
(We have a lot of work to do with how humans treat other humans. This statement is not to diminish the need for practical action to combat racism)
