Work vs. Business: The Price of Freedom and a Legacy

in #article2 days ago

Work or start a business? This debate has spanned ancient and modern times. Having been in the workplace for two years, I know well its constraints: when you work, freedom no longer belongs to you—it is transferred to others.

Business is completely different. The initial stage of starting a business is like purgatory:

You have to bear an extreme load of 18 hours a day for the first three years.
You are always facing the existential crisis of starting from scratch.

But after breaking through the critical survival threshold, you will unlock the ultimate rewards:
✅ Absolute autonomy—time, decisions, and value distribution are in your hands.
✅ An intergenerational pass—handing over assets to the next generation instead of a resume.

This is the core dividing line:

The workplace requires academic certification, but cannot pass on positions to children.

Even if a business starts from scratch, it can eventually become the cornerstone of family wealth.
