Brutal short that describes what society calls happiness
What is happiness? How to achieve it? We live in a world that has deceived us in so many ways on how to be fully happy. The worst of all is that we keep falling again and again in their lies.
A world in which the more you have, the more you can experience the longed for happiness and then we fall into an endless spiral: we need stability, that nothing lacks us. How is that achieved? With money! Then we work, we kill ourselves to get to climb on that social ladder and while we go up we pretend that we can acquire more things, that's what credits are for! We get into debt and remain enslaved to a job we hate. We do not have time to be with our family and our loved ones, we are too busy fighting to be happy.
There comes a point where nothing is enough and we think that fun can bring us closer to happiness. We go out partying, we get drunk, we experiment. Happiness does not come. We keep working. Sometimes it seems so close and it gets out of hand. Could it be that we will ever reach it? Could it be that there will be something capable of filling that void?
That's what this amazing short film by Steve Cutts called Happiness is about, which perfectly describes the cruel reality in which many are involved in search of happiness. It's brutal, it's honest, it's real.
