What Is Typography?
Typography is, quite simply, the art and technique of arranging type. It's central to the skills of a designer and is about much more than making the words legible.Your choice of typeface and how you make it work with your layout, grid, colour scheme, design theme and so on will make the difference between a good, bad and great design. It's a display font that has a modern look but also feels like a classic Art Deco font. It's a good blend of past and future. It's Gotta love digital art that pops into your face.
Is typography an art? That’s like asking if photography is an art.Certainly there are photographers and typographers whose ideas and techniques raise their work to the level of art.But at their core, both photography and typography perform a utilitarian function.
