Wings of Gold
The keeper seemed kind
playing with our mind.
While we saw love,
all he could see was to keep us in bind.
We had the wings of gold, so we were told.
He said he would keep us safe,
but we were so naive.
Believed all he told and many lost their wings of gold.
Few stood apart.
Kept standing even in dark.
Thinking what good would the wings be,
if we cannot be free?
Hence, they took risk of flight
through the stormy day and angry night.
The fight went on for very long
but alas came a day with a beautiful dawn.
It wasnt the wings, they were not made of gold.
It was the light of the free sun,
which made them bold.
