Evolution of a sculpture of a Head of a Young Man

I started by using a polystyrene mannequin adding air dry clay for the primary features. I then made the mistake of spray painting the polystyrene which melted it and although adding interesting texture was undesirable. I had to build up the bust again using more clay, finally painting in gold and copper acrylic paint.
