POGs Tribute: COGS! (collect them all) Series JAN.1.0
COGS -
[Collectible, original graphic art squares by Robyn of Eggs]
An introduction to my inspiration and a game
Lately I have been finding relief in creating graphic art. I have so many graphic art creations that it's beginning to remind me of my old skool POG collection from 8th grade. POGs were around in the early 1990's and started out as a game using bottle caps. Similar to the game Jacks, POGs are up-cycled bottle caps used to play a game.
They soon became collectible pieces using desirable, circle-punched images glued or sealed onto the caps. Often bright and glittery, thicker metal POGs were called "slammers" and were used to flip the other POGs up into the air. The players would then try and grab the most POGs out of the air before they hit the ground. The aim of the game was to grab the most, or to collect the coolest. (Sparkles!) :-) Oh, and there's no underlying bird theme or anything. ;-)
I'm sure there are many variations of playing the game. Do you remember playing? Do you still have some of your POGs? I do, tucked away somewhere I can't remember right now... I looked up POGs on eBay and the prices range from $5.99-$50.00. That's about the same as it was decades ago, weird, lol! Anywho, here is my new invention and POG tirbute! :-) Who wants to play a game?
