RE: "Blinded by Beauty" [watercolor]
Now that is some of steemit's best art, but I've always felt your art was heads and tails above just about anyone hear. You watercolor techniques are coming alone really well. Once you get the feel of it you can go as washy or detailed as you wish!
Thanks so much! Man, the watercolor....it's a hard one to master. I was going for a particular look for the hair when I started, and it just wasn't happening! So I ended up with what it is, which wasn't what I envisioned, but I'm still ok with how it turned out. I have a love/hate relationship with watercolor, but mostly love :) It's like we're kind of going through a slight rough patch but I know our relationship will be better on the other side lol Every time I think I start to get the hang of making a nice smooth gradient wash it reminds me that I have a lot more practicing to do!
Watercolor takes on the nature of water, it is always changing and moving. You can catch the details like you with your pencils and charcoals but you have to use less water and different kinds of brush strokes, gouache is very helpful as well. I've been trying to loosen up so I love this one because it's so free.
Yeah that makes sense. I have been meaning to get some gouache for a long time, but have yet to do so, hopefully soon....I am definitely due for another trip to the art store, it has been quite a while!
I bought my art supplies on overstock.com using coinbase as a wallet if you want to use some of your sbd....
hmm....interesting, I didn't know you could do that! I don't have coinbase right now, I might have to look into that. I use Binance/Bittrex and then Gemini.
