RE: Collaborative Art: "Id Drawing" (Part 1 of 4)

in #art8 years ago

Looks like a plan view of a future condominium complex. Other than that one should be a psychologist to figure out your individual motivations. Many great artists employed ghost artists on the same painting. But these collaborations have been conducted with the understanding that there was one main idea behind the painting and everyone worked towards accomplishing this idea. In your case guys, it's a combined talents dispersed in every which way – no common idea and as a result, it’s impossible to understand what this drawing is the expression of… Impossible for me.

Maybe it is an art of the new time, though. Future will tell.

Thank you for your insightful comments @mgaft1 ... We also see cities in these. The four of us treated them as collages of plan drawings. In future posts we'll dive into the ideas of "ego" in artwork. In this case, we tried our best to dissolve the individual and embrace a raw-reactionary drawing...

Ic. well I will follow you to see the next incarnations of your colloboration.

Thank you for the feedback, and yes it is definitely a departure from a straightforward "Ego" development with assistants and such. I think that's the true fun and challenge of presenting on Steemit as we provide explanation and insight into our own lives which are both relatively absent in a gallery/museum/online portfolio/etc. To try and clearly explain what is happening in the drawings is a challenge for us as well and the focus has been on when our techniques and ideas collide rather than converge seamlessly.
