Life behind the scene. Another day of the studio life. Part 2.

This is the continue of my series of posts "Life behind the scene" and today I will tell you how we were creating a TV commercial of the vitamins for kids.
About Me
My name is Ivan. I am 34. As you may or may not know from my previous posts, I am the owner and a CG-supervisor at POSTKINO FX in Moscow, Russia. CG is Computer Graphics for those who doesn't know. It is middle size production house. I work in the film industry more than 12 years, and I love it so much.
Scenario & Storyboard
Any movie, any short movie, any commercial has a scenario.
Storyboard is a visualization of the scenario with the still images, like a comics.
We had 2 scenarios, and 2 storyboards. In both stories we had 2 very funny jelly characters, a dolphin, and a dinosaur.

They help our kids to solve their problems.
Filming
We had only one day to film both of the stories, so we started from the early morning.
Showing to the main character how to move ...
I am taking photos
This is our Dino. On the stage we called him green ninja )). On the post-production we will replace him with the CG-character.
Working with young actor.
Post-production
Both dolphin and dino were created and animated in the 3D software, called Blender. It is very powerful piece of software, and we love to work in it.
This is the animation scene for the first shot, where we see the bottles with the jelly dinos and dolphins.

You can see on the right screen the animation bones in front of the character. The animator can move them and create the motion of the character. This is how the cartoon characters become alive.

It was very interesting project. And since that day we've created 2 more commercials with our nice and funny characters.
But that will be another day of our studio's life. ))
