The Old Dog Presents: The Mundane as Art. Your Photographs of Streets!steemCreated with Sketch.

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Hey friends, great news! We now have an art exhibit consisting of your minimalism shots of roads and it's a thing of BEAUTY!!!! These road sections look so beautiful once they're framed and hung on the wall!

Where is The Art Exhibit?

Why in cyberspace of course...... but it still looks so real and soooo good!

Check Out How Great it Looks And Learn Who Won The 10 SBD Prize!

In my previous post on this subject "The Old Dog Presents: The Mundane as Art. Let's Create Another Gallery!" I  presented sections of roads as art and asked you to send me the exemplars that you had seen! Your response led to our beautiful exhibit at ArtSteps.com!

Here we go, our first wall of your contributions. The one in the center was sent by @dexpartacus and on either side of it we can see those contributed by @livelifefullest

These are all from @voronoi except the one with the brown stones which was taken by The Old Dog himself!

The two on the left are by @voronoi. Wow, so beautiful. To their right is a submission by one of Steemit's distinguished artists @silviabeneforti!

So With All of Those Beautiful Entries Who's The Winner?

Well I have to admit that the submissions by @dexpartacus and @silviabeneforti had me deliberating long and hard  but there was one that captured me with the texture and perspective and therefore the grand winner is:

This submission by @voronoi dazzled both my eyes and my imagination and he is the 10 SBD winner. In fact he was so taken by the roads in Lisbon that he submitted a whole article about it. Check it out here!

Would You Like to Have a Walk Around Inside The Gallery?

Come on....let's go. I'll give you the guided tour!

What Do You Think?

  • Are you surprised at how great the gallery looks?
  • Would you like to see more Steemit virtual galleries in the future?
  • What other mundane object would you like to see us explore as art? Please let me know

I hope that you enjoyed this article about "The Mundane as Art. Your Photographs of Streets!"

Until next time,

@kus-knee (The Old Dog)

Sort:

nice idea Old Dog! But I would contribute to pay the full version! and then I'll try to make some virtual galleries (with Art At Steemfest, after received a permission by the authors; but also my own art or art uploaded to my site Steemarket.com)...
Let me know if it's ok for you if we share the license :)

Im going to check on the details. I need it for my Mundane as Art Series of which I have two now and for my Steemcards. If you could use it to promote your art and for some of the communities art that would be great.

ok, let's do it! ;)

very creative Old Dog!
how come I missed out on this :D
ah .. I've been absent very often hahah
the winning piece looks like it's even moving ^^
congrats to voronoi!

I love this gallery idea, though would love to see a more up close view of the pieces to really appreciate the detail. The Collaborative Art Journey and other initiatives could benefit from a program like this. It'll be fun to see what galleries are formed.

Thanks for sharing Old Dog!!!

The 3d model looks really great, since I didn't read the contest post it looked real at first! I also like the topic and the artists choices for it!

Yes it's a lot of fun to use the virtual gallery and I plan to use it more in the future!

You've inspired me... let me know when potholes become art (we've got a treasure trove). I'm going Sunday to take a few pics of a mural someone did on a building downtown. I tried during the week but the cars block the view- I'd like to get a photo of the whole thing for the full effect!

Just dont think you got a corner on the pothole market, my friend. We have a few here that are no slouches! If you hit them wrong, you are liable to lose a tire at least!

Let's do this! Pot hole art gallery! I bet that we could make it a success!

Im game for that!

Let's do it... I'm going out with my camera Sunday so I'll hit a few (pun intended!)

This sounds like the plan guys! Pothole art... it just might catch on!

I agree!

I remember living in Michigan... I'm not even going to argue the point. I remember watching an entire Amish family disappear into one!

Lolz no doubt! A hahaha

I like the idea of the potholes! If you watch the video above there's a special message for @paolobeneforti!

I love seeing anything that promotes the Beneforti's they're such wonderful people and have been very supportive of me... in fact I dedicate my book to all of my Steemit friends, but them in particular. I'll give Paolo a little push... I know he has an exhibition coming up and according to Silvia has a case of pre-exhibition nerves right now.

Yes they are a great asset to this community!

Rich, you're always so sweet with us! Thanks so much ^_^

Thank you for all of your support, both you my dear Silvia and to Paolo! You might mention @kus-knee and his video to Paolo

thx @richq11! very kind of you! but I'm almost ok after set the exhibition up today - just tired! :)

Well, my dear friend, I'm glad you're on the downside of the stress. (I know how you feel- I'm editing the book now, Marty sent it to me in book form and it looks completely different, like it was written by someone else)

I hope you have time to look at the video on here, I think @kus-knee may be on to something!

sure, I think the virtual show proposed by Old Dog are a good idea!
and let us know how it goes with your book! :)

I'm going to try to do a final edit this weekend (252 pages I think)... You and Silvia have a I'm glad you're on board with the Old Dog, he's a great guy and one of my favorite people on here!

This is my acknowledgement page

This book is dedicated to my many friends on Steemit.
com without whom it would never have been possible.
To, my partner in crime Maarten Wydooghe, whose art
makes it infinitely better... and Paolo and Silvia Beneforti
who have been supporting my efforts to be a writer from
the beginning.

wow! Silvia and I are really honored and moved, Rich! thank you!

wow, how many beautiful photographs!!!!
Ps: about your idea, I think it's really a great idea and I agree with my hubby ^_^

Im so happy that you entered! Please also enter my next one will be on pot holes as inspired by the photo by @old-guy-photos which you can see in the comments here!

This is such a wonderful choice tanks for sharing.

I really appreciate your visit. It's a fun project and I look forward to doing another one!

There is artistic beauty in the art of the streets. It depicts our culture and attitude today. so too can be the art of buildings. It would be neat to compare the street art today compared to a century or two or 5 centuries ago. How they are different and what similarities do they share?

You've got some great ideas, thoughts and poetry @enjoywithtroy!

Great to have an exhibition on this. Never thought about it. This is amazing to turn those into fantastic art. Love it.

Thanks so much. It was a very fun project!

OMG You make me want to go back into Second Life and run another Art Gallery again!

Was very fun!

Then I moved on to helping people exhibit and sell their 3D products for avatars in a virtual mall. Super Addictive and rewarding !

You should be pleased with yourself! Somehow I missed your previous posts on the virtual art gallery. And I cannot tell you why but the instant I saw the thumbnail of your photo of the gallery, I thought, "VR!" Then I tried to second-guess myself away from VR. But, no. I was right. And Surprised! It is a very well created space!

Are you addicted yet?

Something mundane? Small rocks, pebbles.

You should do a great many virtual galleries. Have you seen what voxelus.com is up to? I'm afraid they are far and away beyond their time but who knows. Maybe not. I've invested a small small amount but I don't have the $$ for the hardware ... lol such is life!

PS: I've figured out the VR clue I picked up on. Yell if you want to know.

So cool that you have experience with this. I like your idea of rocks or pebbles. We shall do one of those in the future!
