The guide for the rookie Illustrator V7. Clothes!

Hello guys, it's been so long since the last time! in this guide we will finish the theme of the clothes and how to follow the patterns, make the sewing, different color designs, etc.introducciones.png

Extra information:

you will notice that the patterns have a name but not a more detailed explanation, these names refer to the type of cut in each garment that we show, so that if you want to investigate or base yourself on a style you know whats its name.

1.png

the top clothing is relatively easy to draw, the cuts are simple and the wrinkles are simple of plasmas in the illustration, in this guide in general.

we will divide into two parts: how gravity works and the cuts that are usually used for the garments.

The shirts have four different types of cuts which are the sleeves, back, neck and long, in these sections on Sewing cut. I will teach you these styles and their respective names so that you can know a little more about how to combine them and make fabulous shirts and croptops.

These are just a few small examples, there are many more styles that can be used, just be creative.

The gravity is always based on the points of tension and points of collision between the fabric and the objects exposed to it, these can be: The wind, solid objects, gravity and the sewing patterns that the garments have.

In the following examples it can be observed how the type of seam and the cloth that is used would react after being pulled in one direction.

gravedad-camisa.png

Example A:

Thanks to the fact that the seam is of the croptop type, if we pull this cut and release it, after ascending quickly it will return within a short period of time or immediately.

Example B

the cut and the thick fabric of this shirt, can lose elasticity easily, therefore if we pull this fabric it will stretch and it can be permanently stretched.

Example C

being a fabric that is not only rigid and very thin, while buttoned, these parts will create a negative space but when you finish pulling the fabric, with some jerks, it will be in its original form again.

ejemplos-1.png

This can be applied to shirts, seams and sleeves that you want, if you have doubts about the behavior of negative and positive spaces, at the end of this guide there will be a link to our guide that specifically talks about this, you should read it to understand most of this guide.

skirt.png

The length of the skirt is divided into three base sections, as shown in the image, where we also observe the type of sewing that is usually used according to the length, this way it will be easier to identify how to make a seam correctly.

When we talk about dresses we can combine the styles of cuts for the neck that are observed in the shirts, and the patterns of the long skirts, however here you will see some sewing patterns that are used specifically for dresses.

2.png

Unlike shirts and croptops, although the material used will have different weight, length and seams, the only thing that changes when exposed to a point of collision or tension is the amount of force it imposes on the fabric,
a leather skirt will never move so easily with the wind or with the movement of the user, like a silk skirt, which will move with very delicate touches.

ejemplos.png
In the following examples we can see this difference of how they would move depending on the pattern.
Falda-gravedad.png

Another trick that applies to skirts and dresses, is to make the way in which it would move by the passage of air, to understand this we return to the example of the guide in the following link.

The guide for the rookie Illustrator V5

This way taking advantage of the domain of gravity, we can make easy effects.

falda-gravedad-2.png

Everything we apply to skirts and dresses can easily be applied to hoods and capes or robes, the gravity in these types of garments resembles a lot.
capas.png

in the case of any protuberance, it is more visually comfortable to add spaces in the fabrics for these protuberances, either wings, horns or animal ears.

3.png

Probably the piece of clothing where we usually make mistakes in the folds, even after learning about the patterns and how the shadow and the folds of this garment behave, some of us occasionally make an error.
ejemplo-pantalon.png

The folding of the pants always depends on the type of seam (as we have explained before), and the pressure exerted by the body and what collides against the fabric, even though most of this pressure depends on the gluteus and the knees.

This is how we show in this example the correct and incorrect way to fold the pants.
dobleces-del-pantalon.png

This type of expansion usually starts from the cut line that the pants have, since it is the support area in the fabrics.

The most important thing to remember is to have fun, this is just a guide to learn faster. We all start by seeing our work as a hobby, and if you lose that feeling, you will most likely end up abandoning the practice.

This is all for now. See you in the next post!

Me encanta. I love you!

This is one of the most useful posts I've seen in Steemit. I'm an illustrator and I learn a lot with every one of your posts. Thanx, you're a genius.

It makes me happy to know that the people are served by my guides, thank you very much for your support.

Your character (which has vitiligo) is beautiful. I just watched Deadpool 2. One Marvel character called "Domino", which in the comics is Caucasian woman and has a black, heart-shaped tattoo around one eye, in the movie is an African-american woman with a white vitiligo patch around the eye. She kicks ass and is hot.

I also liked the adaptation of domino to the big screen, I'm a big fan of marvel comics, and deadpool is one of my favorites. although lately in what I read, it doesn't come out domino I like the character itself.
