Hanging Succulent Planters: A Photographic
Good Day Steemians,
It's the time of year here in Canada where folks start planting their gardens and putting plants out in their yards and on their deck. I have started making these hanging succulent hanging planters in celebration of Spring's final arrival. They are actually pretty fun to make and incorporate several things I think to do: wheel throw, making practical usable art, hand carve and getting creative.
The following images show the planters already wheel thrown and dried a few days. These pieces have been trimmed of excess clay, shaped a little more and hand carved. They will need to become bone dry before they are ready for their first firing in the kiln where they will be turned from greenware to stoneware (bisque).
The image below shows the planters after they have come out of the bisque. They are now ready to be glazed.
A close up of the planters fresh out of the kiln with glaze.
And the finished results.
Hope you have a great day!
