Boldart 7

I paint in spells. Everyone has spells of things.... right? LOL.... Sometimes I want to paint and I have a zillion ideas, but none of them will come forward and volunteer to be next. One time I decided I would paint something elementary while I was waiting for the next idea to pop up in my brain....(ok ok a lot of my art looks elementary, but this one you would actually be able to tell what it was... .now hush) ....and this is what happened.

When it was done my inner child loved it.

What does the child in you think?

Hope you are all doing well.

Love ya !

It DOES have a happy feeling.... doesn't it ?

Thanks for coming over and for the upvote ! ✨

I'm the same @jacey.boldart. I paint in spells too. And it's been a very long dry spell as far as art is concerned.

I'v been talking about getting back to it most of the time I've been on Steemit (9 months) and yesterday I finally made and posted a quick collage.

I'm planning on getting into my attic room again today and doing some more.

I love your inner child art. It would be a great design for a greetings card. 😊

I love the swirls in the grass. Is that a stencil?

If feels good to get started again.... and hard to stop after.

Thank you .... I'm happy you like my art.

I believe I started trying to use a stencil for the grass swirls, but it was a late thought and I was working around things that were already there, so it wasn't going very well. I then put it aside and filled in by brush. I haven't used stencils much, but took a notion to try to incorporate some fun stencil shapes (yes.. there was a spell of that too).... but I had somewhat forgotten about them. When you asked, I looked for them and I have no idea where they are, but I know they are in a 3 ring binder in page protector sleeves...... somewhere. Why did you make me start looking for them ?? !! LOL !!!

Why did you make me start looking for them ??

Ha, ha, ha @jacey.boldart. I know that feeling. I did the same thing to myself yesterday after making my inktober post.

I used a polymer clay slice that I had lying around and got to wondering where my clay was. I thought I knew but I couldn't find it. 😂

If I start creating again I'm not sure how I'm going to manage posting on Steemit as well. Not to mention Steem Monsters is starting soon and I want to have a got at that as well. 😱

Have a fun weekend! 😊

Thing is on MY hunt, I moved here about 16 months ago and I haven't seen them since ! I have what is supposed to be a spare bedroom that is still have full of boxes.... so it must be in one of those..... ugh !!

I have added Steemit to my life since my last painting spell, so I thought the same thing, but I must paint, so I will have to figure that out somehow.

I have seen the words "Steem Monsters", but I have not taken the time yet to see what that is about.

Hope your weekend is a pleasant one too.

Oooo. But just think of the fun when you open the boxes and are reunited with your supplies @jacey.boldart. 😁

I'm trying to use up/get rid of a lot of mine. I have way too many old books, for example. And loads of stuff I picked up for doing some "found art" that I doubt I'll ever use.

I'm not sure how my paint will have fared either since we had such a hot summer and my supplies are in an uninsulated attic! 😱

Do you sell your art?

Funny thing is, most of my supplies are here scattered all over and I don't seem to be missing anything else. ha..... I'm sure I slid that binder in somewhere with unlike things, because it would FIT before the move.

I understand trying to use things up. I have a handful of squiggle paintings that were mostly end of bottle paints. A couple had started out as test canvases for something I wanted to try. One I was going to get rid of and whilst on the phone with my Mom one day, just squiggled stuff here and there. The next morning when it was dry I thought hmmmm.... Ode to Jackson Pollack, so it was allowed to stay ahahahaha. I will blog them for the fun of it one day.

Two thoughts, first for books.... I had magazines and other things that finally got in the way. While I was watching tv from time to time, I thumbed through each one and tore out photos or recipes to keep and let the rest of the book or magazine go to the trash. It reduced the size of the space I needed for storage greatly and I kept the best of each.

The other thing is, take a canvas or board, paint it with a neutral color and drizzle sand on it while it is wet or put the sand in the paint so the surface will not be smooth when it dries. Then hot glue all those doodads that you kept to use one day and make a true collage of them. THERE... they are used and now they are a piece of fun art.

Are your paints acrylic or oils? I can't imagine acrylics would survive the heat, but I'm not expert about that. Oils I have no idea.

I do sell my art, but not formally, although I'm working on some ideas that may change that in the not so distant future.

Ha, ha, ha. @jacey.boldart. You have no idea just how many doodads I have. It would take many, many canvases to use them all. 😂

Nice idea though.

My paints are both acrylic and oils although I've never used the latter. The acrylics have separated over the summer and required some intense stirring today to make them usable. 😁

Well.. .if it's going to take THAT many canvases, you better get started right away....LOL.

How lovely and colorful Jacey..! ^_^
I wonder what I paint in spells means..? I don't understand this

Thank you !

If I say I paint in spells, I mean, sometimes I paint a lot for days or weeks and then there will be times when I don't paint at all for a while. 🙂

Oooh...I didn't know this expression and was far from understanding the meaning, thanks for the explanation !

You're welcome !

After I first saw your question, I was thinking, what else does spell mean and then I realized that sometimes "spell" means like a spell a witch casts on something.... a magic spell. I wish I DID have magic ha ha.... but no.

Sometimes in the south, someone might say they are going to "sit a spell"..... then it means..... they are going to sit down for a while or a short amount of time.

It's funny how one word can have so many meanings and that it is just a matter of the context in which it is used.

Hope you have a happy day.
