"Isle of the Death" after Böcklin
One of my collectors asked me to paint him a small piece after Böcklin's "Isle of the Death" in commission. So here I am, painting the Isle of the Death...
Isle of the Death in progress
acrylic on paper 30 x 42 cm
Your '' artistic fingerprint'' and unique style makes me forget it's a version after Böcklin. ;-)
Thank you Monica!
hahaha thats a really nice tribute! I love Böcklin!
I'm struggling with this since weeks...
It's brilliant Peter. I think you are being too critical, keep going.
Interesting work - I am tempted to do some research about all the different versions based on Böcklin. .... if I had the time ..... there are also a ton of paintings about the Tower of Babylon based on Pieter Bruegel. Thinking about Wessi...... in a way I feel this painting of yours is almost like a hybrid between the Isle of Death and the Tower of Babylon.
Looks like a lovely place for holidays ^_^
All inclusive!
Like it better than the original!
Come on! :-)
I must agree with mister Reinhard.
wow...keep up
Thanks!
You are a master of the gothno-technical.
Thanks!
What? :-)
I simply meant it made me think of both gothic and technological styles, which might otherwise be at odds.
I probably should have said technological, if I am going to make up terms, since technical implies something to do with technique.
