Artistic figures in Amsterdam RAI station
Once again Amsterdam art comes innovative and leaves non-answered questions.
It is a fact that there are plenty of statues raised in various spots throughout Amsterdam. The interesting part lies not only along the fact that they are modern art - so they do not focus on historic figures - but instead it lies with the design and the artist's intention that is sometimes challenging to be infered.
That said, I believe the artistic statues raised in the square close to Amsterdam RAI train and metro station fall in this very category. They depict couples; men and women. Each couple stands on a separate pillar and the male is significantly shrinked, when compared to the scale used for the female statue.
They are innovatve for sure. Yet the artist's intention still remains hidden - at least to me.
I researched on the Internet to find clues, but I never made it. If someone happens to know what is it about, I would be happy to learn.
Just see for yourself.
