From Oats Studios http://www.oatsstudios.com/ and director Neill Blomkamp comes an awesome new miniseries in the spirit of postapocalyptic warfare. Blomkamp, who was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, has done 3 bigger movies til date, these being "District 9", "Elysium" & "Chappie", all featuring a similar universe but different stories. Aliens, paradise in space, hell on earth & cute robots. Yep, check.

Now this "Rakka" is another setting but you can recognise Blomkamps handwriting easily. "Rakka" is the first part of a miniseries, which all offer a different point of of view, but the main theme being that in year 2020, reptilian aliens have enslaved earth and humankind, building their crazy towers of dying human bodies. A handful a resistance remains. Enter Sigourney Weaver, who is perfect as always.

There isn't much you can say about a 20-minute short film, without spoiling the plot, but the films are freely distributed on the internet upon their arrival. For the fans of Blomkamp's work, this is a real treat and a must see. While i don't consider myself a die-hard fan, i enjoyed this short thoroughly with my girlfriend, who hasn't seen any on Neill's previous work.

Now grab your popcorn and enjoy "Rakka" in this youtube feed below!
