Hello Dear Steemit Friends ! My choice for today in the series '' To Honor Old Masters '' is Gabriël Metsu ( 1629 – 67 ) , Dutch painter, active in his native Leiden and later in Amsterdam. He painted various subjects, including portraits, still-lifes, and mythological scenes, but he ist best known for his genre pictures.

One of Metsus best-known works, '' The Sick Child '', is often compared with Vermeer. His work displays carefully balanced composition and colour schemes, and his observation of people and still-life details are charming.
