Simplicity is often the purveyor of emotion. I love to work with bold compositions and just a few simple, but impactful details, to give the viewer a visceral experience. Simple details give me chills in this image, like the relaxed, hunched way she sits, the crumbling hole in the flesh, and the way the skin reflects the light.

Though this image is simple, it is overt in it's darkness. A question I have always asked myself is: "How can I create a dark image without creating horror?" By keeping the image simple and clean, my work often falls into a more surreal genre rather than gore.
