Crafts: Mini Hybrid Surfboard
Hello Steemians! I'm drawingwithflare.

I'm back and today I came back to crafts and made a miniature surfboard.

In this craft, I used 100cw and 280cw sandpaper, glue and superglue, utility knife, vice, pencil and eraser, black and white paint, and ofcourse the popsicle sticks.

So first I outlined and planned the look of the board by drawing it in a piece of paper.

Then I cut them out.

Then for the body, I used 6 popsicle sticks (2x3) but instead of just putting all with superglue I cut one of the pieces in half.

And then, using some superglue, I glued the first three together, then I glued the rest on it but in an alternate way for extra support.

And after that, I traced the templates I created earlier in the popsicle and the body.

So I was planning on adding 3-4 fins on the board. Sadly, the smaller fins broke in half. All of them broke in half. Except for one that's why I decided to only add one fin.

Using the utility knife and the 100 grit sandpaper, I cut the body of the board out. It took a while and I also accidentally poked my hand with the knife but I did it.

Then, using the 100 grit sandpaper, I flattened out the top and bottom surface of the body.

And then, I smoothed the sides of the board so it wouldn't be so sharp.

Then I also sanded the edges of the fin and the body.

And for more support, I etched out a hole on the body to fit the fin in place.

Then using normal glue, I glued the piece so it wouldn't move much when I add the superglue. It worked and I got it straight even after adding supergluing it.

Then I painted it white for base coating..

And using a sponge, I tapped it with paint and slowly add the black for a cool effect of course.

And that's it done! It took about 5-6 hours of me working (paint drying included) and I think it was worth it. My hand hurts and my neck also hurts but it turned out good.
And I was gonna see if it floats but I realized that the paint I used is waterbased. And I don't want to repaint it.
Thank you so much! My name has been Flare and Bye!!!
