Introducing myself and my art: Hello steem!

in #art7 years ago

Hi everyone! I am still trying to figure out steemit as i am new here but i thought introducing myself and the content i'll post will be a good start.

I am from izmir, Turkey. I am 22 and currently studying American Literature. Reading, especially poetry, is such a passion to me. So you will see a lot of posts about them from me. However i have been drawing and painting my whole life, and sharing my work with others is such a joyful thing to me. The idea of getting paid by sharing art is even better since it can help paying my student debts.

I read a lot of gothic, horror fiction and most of the stuff i drew got the inspiration from those genres. My style is mainly horror/macabre or fantasy but i play around most of the time and try different things. I also use Adobe Photoshop cs6 for my digital work but for now traditional media is what i am focused on mostly.

Here are a few examples of my art and i will try to post more in the future.

Other than that, im trying to develope my photography skills, so a lot of amateur, weirdish photographs will be posted...you are warned.

I am already excited about this whole thing! Thanks for reading everyone!

Hi and welcome to steemit! I'm pretty new myself. I love your art and your inspirations! I'm an artist as well and it seem like our interests definitely overlap! :D Can't wait to see more from you!

Thank you! I also checked your art and loved it ^^

Yay! thanks!!

I am not an artist but those sketches look pretty incredibly good to me! Very cool you made it aboard, why this place isn't packed full of students your age right now is beyond me. Maybe that's something you eventually have a say in at some point. I wanted to invite you to an event I am hosting this week for newbies to the platform like yourself. It's a nice chance to get you rolling forward, meet more people, get more noticed, get upvotes all of that fun stuff. Feel free to ask any questions I like to be of help when I can here is the link: https://steemit.com/earthnation/@cryptkeeper17/win-steemit-upvotes-for-life-with-a-free-membership-to-steembasicincome

Thank you for your kind words and inviting me to the event. I will totally check it!

Gothic architecture has always intrigued me. The oldest standing buildings here in the United States have hints of it from that era. The art is amazing too by the way. I remember in high school we had an art book Albrecht Durer that our Art teacher had (I believe that's his name Duhrer?) absolute genius stuff, lots of portrayals from the Bible, incredibly interesting stuff.
