Fantasy Maps - Not Your Typical Art Genre
I'm a graphic designer by profession, but I found that although I loved graphic design when I first learned it as a kid, I hated it as a job. All my projects were the same thing all the time: brochures, pamphlets, business cards, web adverts. Dull unimaginative corporate stuff where I had very little creative say in the final product. So recently, I started branching out and mixing my passions with my professions. I love fantasy, always have. I realized that there's a lot of really good fantasy art out there when it comes to characters, creatures, weapons, landscapes, etc. But not a lot of good maps. So I started making fantasy maps as a freelance artist.
I'm both very creative, but still logic driven. And as an INTJ I love data. I've never been a great traditional artist, but something about map making satisfies every part of my brain. My creativity, my data fascination, my professionalism, and my passion. It's been fun. This is a map I made for my own fantasy world: Godsbane. I'd be more than happy to talk your ear off about the world if there any questions you have about it.
