Glowing Flower Lamp Shade- Recycled Plastic Bottle

"Recycling takes a little effort on your part, but makes a big difference to the world."

We all know that Plastic is one of the problems in our environment. As an individual, we have a big role to prevent pollution's that has a big effect to our world. In our Environmental Engineering Subject this summer, our project is to recycle a material and to create a new product. My group choice is the Soft drink plastic bottle that makes a big percentage in the pollution in the environment.

We created the Glowing Flower Lampshade which is made of Soft drink plastic bottle. We choose to create a lamp shade that will symbolize a "light behind pollution". Lamp shade is very nice in our room, how much more if it is made of recycled product? So here I am wants to present our environmental engineering project- The Glowing Flower Lampshade.

These are the materials that we used:

• 2 pieces soft drink plastic bottle
• 2 cd's
• yarn (pink & red)
• carton
• Battery
• battery holder ( 3V)
• 100 ohms - 1/4 watts resistor
• LED
• wire
• switch
• glue sticks and glue gun

here are the process:

1st process

Here are the process to make the lamp shade

1st process
cut the bottles the 1st bottle is bottom part only and the second is top and bottom part, then cut the lower part to make strips( 5 mm size)

2nd process
after cutting the bottles, we assemble the electronic circuit of the LED

3rd process
create the base of the lamp shade and insert the electronic circuit then put the switch in the side part of base

4th process
put and assemble the 1st bottle with the top to the base using the glue stick

5th process
assemble the cut upper part of the 2nd bottle inside of its body but facing opposite

6th process
assemble the 2nd bottle to the 1st bottle

7th process
put some small twirled yarn, red at the center part and pink on the side

8th process
put a red yarn in the base part

after doing all process, we can now turn on and enjoy the glowing flower lamp shade in different colors.

We have a big role in the environment, we must take care of it for the better future of the next generation. Just follow the 3R's ( Recycle, Reuse, Reduce). Together we can make things happen guys :)
