Each and everyone of us have story, either of tough, rough or sweet to hearing.
So also, every river has a story, and every great story has a river. we all have such unique story about our rivers, I mean river found around us.

Here a brief story about the river in my village called River Aroo

River Aro is a popular river in the early 1800 in our village, the sources of the River is very small and underrated but when dare such person life might end there.

We were told that, there is a man who they usually called olodo (water goddess) this water goddess has two wives and he love them so much, story tell us that this man(water goddess) his good friend to a king of the village, his wives used to went to market to buy and sell because they are traders.

Others usually observed them because their behaviour sometimes seem different from humans, one day about to women in the market went to reported these two strange women to the women head of the market(Iya-Loja), Iya-Loja doesn't recognised them they are wives of goddess, Iya-Loja set a group to spy their movement, but all their plans were not successful, there is a big hole near this river every year either January or December there is always an accident which will claimed many lives, king summoned the rest of chiefs in palace together with traditional priests (Oluawo of the land) this traditional priests consulted Oracle as their believed that it's only Oracle (gods) could lead or tell them way out of this bad tragedy.

Oracle speak "person behind calamity that usually occurred near Aroo river to be water goddess(Olodo)" priests further consulted Oracle to show them ways out, they all put head together (Secrets discussion) few later, king invite goddess to his palace they thin and drink wine together, kind used the medium/opportunity to ask goddess what he hate most (taboos) so he could warn his people never to try it so they could continue to live in peace and harmony, this goddess open up, second day early in the morning, king summoned his chiefs and traditional priests (Oluawo) they prepare that taboos which goddess hate (black dog) they went together cut that dog into pieces and threw it, the king lost his life for exposing the secret but today his an "Hero" who dead to save his community.
