HALLOWEEN / "I WANT YOUR SKULLS...!!" (Part 1 of 2)

Hello everybody,

I know it's a bit early but with every store screaming "HALLOWEEN!!" at me and selling skulls and candy already I thought it might be fun to post something related to that.

So here it is: a handpicked selection of my skull and bones drawings from over the years...

As you already know my main focus has always been on comics, then pin-up, leading to graphic and erotic fine art.
But whenever I needed break from drawing and inking humans I regularly turned to one of the oldest motives in the art world: the skull.

You can find them in so many eras.
From ancient to classical art, abstract art or surrealism, in still lifes, fine arts, graphic art, tattoo art, fashion and so many more...

To me personally, it has always been fun to draw skulls in different styles.
Firstly to get a break from the daily grind of drawing realistic or photo-realistic art but also to use different tools like ink, markers, ballpoint, brushes or even blood.
It's nice to draw rougher textures, quicker lines, experimenting with different papers and different sizes.

So here are the first pieces of my little skull collection, I hope you enjoy them:

As you can see they are taken from my instagram account which is pretty much dead at this time.

But as I am getting into Steemit more and more I will also update my account very soon and keep it updated with new works and exciting news on future projects.
And there's lots to come.

Feel free to follow me on instagram at @danielkiesslerart

Cheers,
D

Amazing, I did not realize the number of brushes & the amount of time goes into all of this_ u are very good at your craft & explaining how u create - do u teach as well?

Thanks a lot @experienceemma for the kind words. Great to hear that you enjoy my works. I did teach illustration / graphic art and also lectured on comics (and the comic book industry) back in Germany, but not anymore. Maybe I should do it again in the future...? :)

Great work!

Thanks @shortcut, great that you like it!

Hello! I've gone through several of your posts and you are quite the phenomenal artist. I decided to comment on your most recent in hopes it would be seen faster. I am heading up a team oriented initiative here on Steemit called #thealliance. Please click/tap here if you would like to read about us. We are branching out in certain areas and one of them will be comics. I would like to extend a welcoming hand to Steemit as a whole on behalf of #thealliance, and hope you seek us out. We have set up a discord channel that has been very effective at coordinating and cooperating with each other. On a final note...kickass skulls, I hope to see more sweet graphics in my feed.

Hey @enginewitty , and thanks so much for the kind words.. awesome to hear that you enjoy my stuff so much. I'll check out the link you included... sounds fun. :) cheers, D

We actually just did a new update (twice a week) and you can check that out by clicking here. But we would love to have a great artist like yourself with us. We have plans for publications that fit the graphic and handheld artist in people. :)
