DUOLOGUE

“The reports of my death are exaggerated”, he did whine.
“Not even original,” The other did opine.
“As you can see, I’m here, hearty and hale.”
“But you have been away, perhaps in jail?”
“I’ve been right here, in Bossington Street.”
“I am not one to readily admit defeat.”
“But it takes much strength, to make it now-a-days.”
“And strength is something that lowers, doesn’t raise.”

“It was Samuel Octavian that reported you dead.”
“He just seemed to get it into his ugly head.”
“And he would not budge, for love nor money.”
“But mentally, he was always quite funny.”
“He was the one that predicted Aunt Prue.”
“Would keel over dead, in a minute or two.”
“Then, just as we were scoffing this notion.”
“Aunt Prue popped her clogs, on a beach near the ocean.”

“That Samuel reported me, Flavian Glugg, dead, is a bit of a shrug!”
“Although some folk do get a strong viral bug.”
“It surely, now, could knock you off your perch,”
“As, with high temperature, to bed you do lurch.”
“Call a Doctor, they all do command,”
“But doctors no longer call on demand.”
“They regard the trick of practising medicine consists”,

“While nature cures the disease.”

“It’s all about money, yes every inch,”
“If they can’t earn it, they’ll readily pinch.”

“But returning, now, to those reports of my demise.”
“It’s so over the top, so “not very nice.”
“You’d think he would be bothered to see,”
“If in the newspaper, there was an obituary.”
“But none of that, can’t be bothered,”
“Just happy enough that I might have been smothered.”
“Where, indeed, do you think it will all end?”
“This most alarming disinformation trend?”
Flavian Glugg, now, did give a shrug.
He was definitely not in a mood for a hug.
There was simply no answer to such a question.
No concern for him, FOOD was available for indigestion!
