DIY - Cross stitch air dry clay heart - A special Valentine's day gift
Do you have DIY in your DNA ? If creativity is your middle name, then you will like this post.
These simple and easy air dry clay hearts make perfect Valentine's day gifts or any other special occasion gifts.
You will need
-------------------------------------
-air dry clay
-rolling pin
-heart shaped biscuit cutter / or simple craft knife
-needle
-thread / yarn
-wood sticks ( to achieve an uniform thickness - see pictures below )
- straw
How to make
- Roll out the air dry clay using a rolling pin

Make sure to use a non stick surface to roll out the clay, like a plastic sheet, or baking paper.
Use the two wood sticks, on each side to get the same thickness for the heart.
- Cut the shape

Using your cookie cutter, cut the heart shape.
Repeat the above steps for the remaining clay ( make a ball with your hands, roll it out, cut shapes).
- Make the holes
-------------------------------------
Using the straw make a hole if you want to insert a thread to make it a necklace for example.
Make a pattern on a math notebook page, for the cross stitch.
Using a needle , or small straw, and the math notebook page as a template, make holes for the thread.

Allow the air dry clay shapes to dry for 24 hours.
Using a needle and your yarn of choice, cross stitch like crazy !
