Tiny 5x7" nude oil sketch with proccess shots - NSFW
Greetings, Steemians! Here is another sketch in oils on a small linen panel I've done to warm myself up before I start to work on larger piece. I would like to share my proccess so I've made a few pictures to show how I painted this sketch.
Washes with gamsol to get rid of the white of the panel. Quick gesture drawing with a brush to find out composition and establish the figure
Continue the drawing, concentrating on the most crucial things — proportions and anatomy
Starting block-in with background — it helps to establish the temperature relations of the piece
Block-in the figure. In this part I try to think masses, not features. I also figure out which parts of the body recieve more light
Working on the details now, fixing the drawing here and there, working out sofisticated temperature shifts in the skin tones
Finishing touches, loosy work with a knife to create texture in the background.
