Animating a cat!
Hello my fellow Steemians! Today I'm going to show you how you can animate a cat. Cats are seen in a variety of media and added them to your animation can increase the realism of a particular scene in your animation. On the other hand if you want to make your own story with cats being the main characters akin to what the book series Warriors does, you can also do that to.
Cats can be difficult to do as it is a quadrupedal mammal. Usually the more legs on the creature typically the harder it is to animate.Relax though we can circumnavigate this issue by breaking the cat into parts. Examples being legs, head, body, and tail. I always start by animating the body and legs first, then the head, and lastly the tail. The tail tends to follow the body as it curves when running and sticks in the air when walking. The head bobs up and down when running. Below are various animations I made with a cat as the main subject.
In this short animation a cat runs and then pounces onto a mouse. This animation took about 1 and a half hours to complete.
The last animation is a simple walk cycle. I didn't use a ref on any of these but I would recommend to use refs to have a base to what you're doing.

I love how it's all intense with the running then all of the sudden he flops to the ground to get the mouse :>
