UAUIM - The place where architects are born in Romania

Here is the main place where it starts the journey of an architect in Romania.

This is the oldest institute of this kind in Romania, forming new architects since 1952. The whole ensemble has not change a bit, every facade is intact, because of the fact that it is considered a historic monument, thanks to the great architectural value that it gives to the area, being situated near the Old City Center.

Only the interior has been adapted a bit to the problems and the new facilities that were brought in here. Altough it had to change a few things to make room for the new elements that were needed, it still has the primary elements that they used back in the day. With all these changes, it had to be a balance between the new and the old in order to maintain this image and the feeling that you would get walking through these hallways, so the main staircase was kept, also the main library and the places that are organised events and gallery arts are untouched as well.

Once you entered in this building, you already feel like you are an important artist, because everyone around you is talking about what art they made, what they are going to make and also you don't feel limited to do something, on the contrary, you feel free to do anything. The University supports students to do what they want and allows their creativity and their work to be shown on the interior walls of the ensemble.

Being a historic monument, it is also a museum and once a year, in the "Night of the Museums" on the nearest Saturday of 18th of may you can visit this wonderful place full of art and projects surrounding you beneficial for your inspiration.
