Dress Up Day in Our School!

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians!

Coming out from more than a month-long hiatus!
I miss all of you and I miss posting. :) I’m finally done with my thesis (yay!), but I’m going to talk about that more in my other post.

So, as many of you know, February is Arts month. This arts month, the theme is ‘Ani ng Sining’, which in English is ‘Harvest of (the) Arts’.

And as an artist and educator, this brought about a renewed sense of passion in me. It was very fitting then that, during the English month celebration, we had our first Character Dress Up Day!

The rules were simple- students were to come to school donning their character of choice. Their characters could either be from a book, a movie, or even from a comic! We were very excited. We knew our students were creative- but when the day came, we were more than impressed!

I’ll be showing you guys some of my favorite costumes from my classes (and beyond!)

Jack Frost was a crowd favorite! (Especially with the ‘crush ng bayan’ donning him!)

This one is a personal favorite, maybe because I love Neil Gaiman, but also because I love the character Coraline. :)

We also have anime fans! We had our own Mikasa Ackerman!

Now, of course the students didn’t have ALL of the fun. The teachers also dressed up for the occasion, too!

We had a teacher and her kid get oohs and aahs and awwwwwsss from their matching Minions costumes!

And of course, when the going gets tough, the tough ones... innovate?

We had a laugh with sir Jason’s “costume”!

The students paraded around with these costumes on the whole day. We have to admit, we were sad the day had to end. The students put on so much time, effort and creativity to make and wear their costumes. They make us all proud! Hopefully we can continue the dress up day for next year so we can continue to be astonished!

Oh, by the way.

Of course I had to dress up, too. :)
