How to build a Frenchy style wall

in #architecture7 years ago (edited)

I have acquired new skills in my job as a garden renovator here in the South of France. Working in my mountain village, just a few minutes walk from my home, I am assisting a local man who has done this kind of work all his life... and doesn't speak a word of english, forcing me to practice my French.

Not the same as cement, the standard for construction around here is a mixture of lime and sand, known as mortar.

There is an abundance of stone & slate here in the Pyrenees mountains which is why this classic building style can be seen everywhere.

In this episode I also share my excitement at the recent BTC pump which may just mark the long awaited end to the current crypto winter.

Know by experience myself as well that this lime/sand/water mix, while having little wounds like open blisters etc, causes a biting pain. But at least your sure it kills possible present bacteria in those wounds at the same time.
Good luck with the work.

Thank you very much for your wishes of luck and good point about it killing the bacteria. The wounds do always seem to heal quite fast.

The garden is starting to look great now!

And am really enjoying myself :-)

Can imagine that. Have built the walls for a shed and some other simular things like you're doing right now a couple of times this way in Burgundy, where it is very popular as well.
Have fun!

Super collection and nice content
