إذا كنت من سكان المغرب العربي، فلعلك سمعت بهذه الأحداث، عن التنازع القائم حول الصحراء الغربية. وإذا لم تكن من هؤلاء السكان، فإن هذا المقال يتيح لك فرصة التعرف على هذا النزاع، والحدث السياسي المهم والمؤثر في المغرب العربي وشمال إفريقيا.

فما هي الصحراء الغربية؟ تلك الصحراء الواقعة في الشمال الغربي من قارة إفريقيا، والتي تقع بين ثلاث دول وهي المغرب، والجزائر وموريتانيا. تبلغ مساحتها مساحة ولاية كولورادو في الولايات المتحدة. احتلت إسبانيا تلك المنطقة قديمًا عام 1884 وبقيت جزءً من المملكة الإسبانية حتى زمن قريب. تبلغ مساحة الأرض المزروعة في تلك المنطقة نحو الخُمس. بينما تكمن أهمية تلك المنطقة والتي تجعلها محلًا للنزاع، كونها مخزون للمعادن مثل الحديد والفوسفات، وربما بعض النفط الذي لم ينقب عنه بعد. الأمة الأصلية الموجودة في تلك المنطقة تسمى الصحراوين بتعداد يصل إلى 570 ألف، والديانة الغالبة هي الإسلام.

ما هي الأطراف المتنازعة المختلفة على هذه المنطقة؟ تمكنت المملكة المغربية من ضم تلك المنطقة للأراضي القابعة تحت سيطرتها في عام 1975 وبعدها نزح نحو 350 ألف مواطن مغربي إلى تلك المنطقة سلميًا ليسكنوا بها، مما أدى بإسبانيا لتسليم تلك المنطقة رسميًا للمغرب. على صعيد آخر، كون الصحراويون جبهة مسلحة تسمى جبهة البوليسارو، وقد حاربت تلك المنظمة في سبيل إعلان الجمهورية العربية الديمقراطية المستقلة في الصحراء الغربية. وقد رأت تلك الجبهة أن الضم المغربي لتبك المنطقة عيد احتلالًا. توقف الصراع بين تلك الجبهة والدولة المغربية بعد تدخل الأمم المتحدة عام 1991 لإعلان وقف إطلاق النار والتسوية بين الأطراف المتنازعة. فانتقل بعدها آلاف اللاجئين الصحراويين إلى المخيمات في الحدود الجزائرية، وصل عددهم إلى 90 ألف شخص طبقًا لإحصائيات الأمم المتحدة. وفي ظل هذا النزاع، تدخل لاعب جديد في الصورة، دولة موريتانيا، معلنة أحقيتها ببعض المناطق في هذه الصحاري. مما أدى بالدولة المغربية للانسحاب وبناء جدار فاصل، محتلة نحو ثلثي المنطقة، تاركة الثلث الآخر لموريتانيا وأرض أخرى غير مأهولة بالسكان بينهما.

ردود الفعل الدولية حول الأزمة:- تعترف بالجمهورية العربية الصحراوية دولتان كبيرتان في إفريقيا، وهما جنوب إفريقيا ونيجيريا. أرسل الاتحاد الإفريقي وفدًا للاحتفال بذكرى التأسيس رقم 40 محتفلًا بمرور أربعين عامًا منذ تأسيس الدولة والإعلان عنها عام 1976، مما أثار حفيظة الدولة المغربية، وهي الدولة الإفريقية الوحيدة التي لاتزال غير عضوة في الاتحاد الإفريقي على أثر هذه النزاعات. كما ظهرت العداءات بين المغرب ودولة السويد، بعد اعتراف الأخيرة بالجمهورية الصحراوية في عام 2011 خلال قرار البرلمان السويدي.
