Do You Even Anime Bro!? Intoducing Friends To A Wonderful World.

in #anime7 years ago (edited)

Anime has always been a part of my life from a very young age. I remember still being in grade school and waking up at 4 in the morning with my brothers to watch Ronin Warriors every Saturday. That was like our animated Power Rangers. Not much later I came across Ninja Scroll and Dragon Ball. I would always joke that it was because of being half Korean, so anime was in my blood. The real reason orbits closer to the growing love of the situations and how the character dealt with them. The awesome super powers were also a driving factor.
Throughout the years I have been able to watch a large amount of anime and I don’t think I’m going to stop any time soon. The other part of loving anime is finding others that love anime as much as you do. Having friends that might not like anime, then it turns to trying to find an anime series that they might like because you want to have more shared interests. I also believe that if some of my friends watch certain anime they would have a better understanding of what kind of person I am. When I refer an anime, I take into consideration as to what kind of person they are and known interests. This isn’t that hard since there is anime that cover just about every conceivable topic that one might like.
To start I’ll try and introduce the ones that moved me the most or had the biggest impact on my life. Some of which might also be popular.

Like Cowboy Bebop

If they aren’t interested enough to sit through a few episodes than I’ll suggest a movie. Following much of the same format. I will start with ones I consider classics and might have the most impact.

Akira, totally a classic.

The original Ghost In The Shell

Ninja Scroll or Vampire Hunter D if they like a little more blood and gore.

I usually hold off on Dragon Ball Z since most people have heard of, if not seen the shows. If western is more their flavor than I’ll suggest Trigun since it has that western feel and is pretty funny.

When it comes to sword play I usually suggest Samurai X before I suggest Rurouni Kenshin.

But some others that I like as well and might be more appealing are Samurai Champloo and Afro Samurai.

I’m curious to know. If you had a friend you wanted to introduce to anime, what are some that you would show them? Would they be some older ones or maybe newer? Who knows, you might have some that I have not seen before and that would be awesome. Maybe there are some listed here that you might not have seen. Let’s share and strengthen the anime community here.

Thank you for your attention! Don’t forget to upvote, resteem, follow and comment.

Until next time, see you space cowboy!

My favorite, the one you turned me onto, is Sword Art Online. Plus i've always been a big fan of DBZ!

Sword Art Online is great. Minus that whole sister falling in love with her brother thing. I found another one that comes from a different viewpoint you might like, it's called Log Horizon. I think you might like this one because it is a little more strategy and tactical focused.

It would totally be Fullmetal Alchemist or Attack on Titan

I used to watch a lot of anime, but haven't for a long time. I had a couple of Kenshin dvd's, but never got to finish the rest of the story. I think it's on Netflix now, so I might just start watching it again :D

It's never to late to get back into it. Netflix does have a variety to choose from. If you like cell shading animation but with that anime feel, I suggest the Netflix original BLAME.

Ooh i think I saw that one pass by aswell. So much to watch!
