Two cats, one roomba and yep, you guessed it!

Hi all!
New to steemit here and ill be honest not much of a story teller but here goes!
So, me and my now hubby moved into our home just over 2 years ago. He is always after a gadget to add to the house, Hue light bulbs everywhere (we could open a night club in our living room), amazon alexa ( he has two of these andIMG-20170606-WA0060.jpg wanted a third??!!), you name it he wants it. So when he pitched the idea of getting a roomba for the home i thought "yes finally a gadget thats practical"
I soon banished our 4 month old hoover to the cupboard and said "screw you! No more do i have to drag you around our moderately sized house once a week. No more do i have to heave your lightweight carcus up the stairs and attempt to hoover round the scattered clothes/shoes and random objects you never seem to find a home for in the spare room". YES! Total winner!

As well as gadgets, we love cats and aquired 2 brothers. Dougie and Derek. Delboy is a typical cat eats anything in sight, bird, mouse, slow worm, even dust, he'll happily eat dust! Then we have Dougie. Hes the real natural born predator...he will take down a feather on the floor like a lion takes down a zebra in the wild! ! He literally jumps at the site of his own tail sometimes. He's special, hes the only cat i know with an overbite too!

Anyway fastforward to the summer months, English summer, so you know its REALLY hot! 😎😎. We leave the house by 8 am every day, roomba starts hes little working day about 8.30 and boy does he cover some surface... we have a pretty open plan ground floor.
I get a call as im on my way home about 7pm and i get a phone call "we've got a problem". Im thinking crap have we been broken into, is there a leak (again), the incredibly loud and annoying neighbour next door has upped his game, what is it? "You need to come home and help me,just come now". So i get home in 10 minutes rushing through the front door to see what the hell has happened.
Well before i could even shut my front door the stench hit me. CAT CRAP. You know the smell. Its like a month old doner kebab has been regurgitated and left to rot somewhere. I then walk into the kitchen and find my partner dismantling roomba with gloves on. As i walk through to the living room there is just tyre upon tyre upon tyre tracks of brown EVERYWHERE. And there was the culprit squashed up against a sofa leg, smudged beyond recognition.
We cleaned for 2 days and could still smell it. Finally we found the tiniest of stains on a cat stratcher and that was it, mission clean pooland completed.
Naughty cats for pooing in the living room and naughty roomba for dragging it round the house on the hottest day of the year!

That weekend i decided to hoover the sofas. I go to my cupboard under the stairs and sitting waiting for me is the old hoover i shoved in there months ago. It was just looking at me like "ha! you come crawling back...Whos the winner now?!"

Suffice to say we've put the brakes on buying anymore gadgets that are left unsupervised.
Be aware people these things fight back!!

Thanks! Just as i finished posting this Dougie comes in with a huge moth to play with, Derek shortly follows behind him catches it and eats the poor thing! 😢

My dog also happily eats dust, took me months to break this habit.
