Can You Help Me Spread The Word About Animal Abuse?

in #animals7 years ago

@GMuxx is hosting a bit of a competition for minnows today. See more about that HERE. I not only want to support @GMuxx in his curation efforts, which you can read more about HERE, but I'd also like to shine some light on problems in my regions of the U.S., animal neglect and cruelty that rivals some you've read about in undeveloped countries.

Not only is the abuse happening, but egregious persecution of those who stand against it. I speak from personal experience, but I'm networked with many animal advocates here in Central Appalachia who've suffered in their jobs, their connections with the community, and even been arrested. The only sure way to end this cycle is exposure. My article "The Most Hated Person In Town" won't be the last post I publish about this, but it does summarize many of the problems we face here in Southwest Virginia when it comes to animal welfare.

Ironic how the civilized world calls savages those tribes living a primitive lifestyle in jungles. And yet, look at what those civilized people treat animals. I wonder who are the real savages
And here I'm only considering animals, don't get me started with the illegal wars happening all over the world.

Yep, because if you get started, I'll get started right along with you. Animal abusers are five times as likely to commit violence against humans, according to the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Another statistic I saw recently says children raised in homes where animals are treated with aggression and cruelty are eight times as likely to become violent offenders as adults. So it isn't just an animal issue. It's a social problem, and one aspect affects the other.

good post .. dont abuse animals love them! instead
