Frog Room Friday-A Weekly Update from our Poison Dart Frog Room!! (Original Content and Pictures)

in #animals7 years ago

Good Evening Friends

It's another Frog Room Friday!

So sorry for not posting last week. I had a pretty tight travel schedule, and was planning to get home on Friday, which didn't happen.

Anyways, on to the frogs!!!!

This week's feature frogs are our Dendrobates leucomelas, also known as the bumblebee poison frog. The particular frog is a poisonous frog from the Dendrobates genus of the Dendrobatidae family -that's a mouthful!!!! HAHAHA!

^^^Amazingly, I was able to grab this cool shot of the female.

The "leucs" are found in the northern part of South America. These guys are normally found in humid conditions in tropical rain forests, often found on flat rocks, trees, plants , and the forest floor, in leaf litter.

^^^We just love the color on these little guys.

Their call reminds me of a bird, but quieter. Also they mainly call during the day, which makes the evening nice and quiet!

We currently have one pair, and are hopeful for tadpoles this Spring!

Thank You for reading. I certainly hope you enjoyed the update!

I like full HD picture

Thank You very much!

Amazing photography , very well captured of this beautiful colored creature

Thank you very much!

i did't see this frog. but this is very dangerous.

What, may I ask, is dangerous?

may be not sure but i seems.

I understand now. It’s because they are poison dart frogs. However, in captivity, the frogs “loose” the ability to be poisonous.
In the wild, I would not touch these beautiful creatures!
Thank you for your comments.

thank you very much see you next time
