This Is Sad, One Of The Very Last Wild Rhinos In Existence
Today I went to visit a good friend of mine after a long time of not seeing him. He is a hunter and a very good one at that. I dont really like hunting but I do not have anything against it, so long as it is done ethically. We all have to eat and we didnt get here without taking a few lives along the way. I have even killed a couple deer of my own, not for the sport but rather for the untainted wild meet. I made my shot as clean as I could, the animal fell to the ground and since it was still suffering I loaded another round and let him slip into peace as easily as I could. After walking up to the animal I put my hand on its back and said a prayer to give thanks for the life and food that it would provide for myself and my family. The last and most important part of the process for me was to make sure I used every last bit of its materials. We even boiled the bones and made soup stock out of it so not to waste anything.
So there is a little background on my perspective. Now during my visit I came across this beautiful wild Rhino mount and I cant help but to feel a little emotionally confused over the whole thing. I know that the locals ate all of the meat that this animal left when it departed but it just seems like this beautiful animal should still be out in the wild living its natural life. Idk I just wanted to share that and maybe start a discussion. Thank you for reading!
